Southern Sierra Region /Artisan Route
The Southern Sierra region is located in the southern part of the state and is characterized by its mountainous terrain and forests.
Its economy is based primarily on agriculture and livestock farming, as well as the production of handicrafts such as textiles, palm weaving, pottery, and wooden objects.
Several indigenous languages are spoken in this region, including Zapotec, Mixtec, and Chatino, in addition to Spanish.
